Samsung Galaxy S20 devices are currently running on the latest Android 13-based One UI 5.1 software and now the company is seeding the models with May 2023 security update refinements. This latest firmware will make the lineup more safe and secure by improving the core mechanism of the system.
As per the details, the owners of Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra are receiving the May 2023 security update with One UI build version G981FOWOGHD1, G986FOWOGHD1, and G988FOWOGHD1 respectively. Additionally, the update carries a package size of 196.52MB.
Notably, the Galaxy S20 lineup will not receive any major update in the future, including the Android 14-based One UI 6.0, and have to spend its life on One the One UI 5.1. Meanwhile, these regular monthly patches will continue to boost the system. Hence, install the patch as soon as it reaches your unit.
The May 2023 update didn’t bring any new features or significant improvements, but it will surely enhance the security and stability of the gadgets and make them reliable for prolonged use. Simultaneously, the firmware will also resolve over 58 CVE items from Google and 21 SVEs from Samsung software.
However, the update is initially rolling out in Brazil. To download the update manually visit the Settings of your phone, scroll down, and tap on the Software update menu. Here you will see the Download & Install option, press that button, and let the system fetch the latest version for you. Once done, follow the on-screen prompts.
