Samsung is rolling out the May 2023 Android security update for Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G smartphones in the US. Therefore, the firmware was previously released for other carrier networks and the Korean tech giant is now extending the reach of the patch for the carrier-locked models of the foldables.
According to the information, the owners of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 5G will be able to identify the May 2023 update via the One UI build version F926USQS3FWE3 and F707USQS4HWE1 respectively. Being a monthly security patch, the update will improve the core mechanism of the system and make it more reliable.
In addition, it will also provide increased security and improved reliability of the system, ensuring that confidential data and sensitive information remain safe and secure. Not only this but the security patch bulletin also mentions fixes for over 70 exploits and vulnerabilities including 58 CVEs from Google and 21 SVEs from Samsung.
Now, talking about availability, the carrier-locked model of Z Fold 3 is grabbing the update on Metro PCS and T-Mobile’s networks in the US. Whereas, the Flip 5G owners are collecting it in on Sprint and T-Mobile’s network. However, the remaining owners will also grab the patch in the coming days or weeks.
