  • This feature will further be expanded to more devices with One UI 7.
  • Double tap on Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 back will let users see time.

Samsung’s One UI 6.1.1 and One UI 7 software versions may introduce a new and useful Back Tap feature for Galaxy devices. This feature will let users check the time, even when the screen is off, simply with a double tap on the back of the smartphone.

As per the details, Samsung is working on a new back-tap action for the Registrar app on Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 devices. This is going to be a handy tool that will eliminate the need to tap on the screen again and again to check time.

With the help of the Back tap consumers can view time even in a situation where it is hard to see the screen, by simply tapping the back of their Galaxy device. This element also works when the screen is turned off aiming to improve accessibility and experience.

Besides this, there are no additional details available about the functioning of this upcoming feature. But we can expect it to be a most useful offering for those who need to check the time in various situations.

Accordingly, the back tap feature is expected to arrive initially on Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 with One UI 61.1. It will then reportedly expand to more Galaxy phones with the rollout of One UI 7 later this year.

Samsung will introduce Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 software pre-installed with the sixth generation foldables most probably in July. On the other side, the firm is rumored to begin the Android 15-based One UI 7 beta program sometime in August this year.
