September 2020 security update is rolling out for Honor Play 9A

Honor is sending a new software update for Honor Play 9A users that installs the security patch released in September 2020, which enhances the system security. Initially, this smartphone was launched with MagicUI 3.0 and now reached MagicUI 3.1.0.176.

However, Honor is working on MagicUI 4 and already started the MagicUI 4 beta testing for its flagship devices. The company will soon expand beta testing for more Honor devices in more regions.

  • Honor Play 9A getting MagicUI 3.1 version 3.1.0.176 from version 3.1.0.175

  • The update will not erase any data
  • It may take some time to reach your device
  • Maintain enough storage and battery
  • If possible, connect to WiFi

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS:

Through Setting:

  1. Open Settings on your device.
  2. Click on system & updates.
  3. Click on the software update.
  4. Check for update
  5. Click on the download button.
  6. Install updates
  7. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears on the screen.
  8. Reboot the device.

Through Support app:

  1. Open the Support app on your device.
  2. If not installed, download it from the Play store.
  3.  Open service tab.
  4. Tap on update.
  5. Check for updates
  6. Click on the download button.
  7. Install updates
  8. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears on the screen.
  9. Reboot the device.
