Update 4, December 17 (08:17 ET) ― Fix rolling out
A new update rolling out with fixes
OnePlus is rolling out a new OxygenOS 12 update for the OnePlus 9 series. The update has now fixed most of the reported bugs/issues. It also brings the December 2021 security patch.
Update 3, December 09 (11:25 ET) ― Factory Reset
Factory Resetting will improve the overall experience
OnePlus’s OxygenOS 12 has some serious bugs. If you want to fix them, folks over XDA have a solution, you need to reset the device into the Factory version.
Since factory resetting my phone, though, it’s been perfect. It’s smooth, it’s fast, and there are (nearly) no problems anymore. Even the DPI scaling has been fixed — all of my apps look consistent. What I don’t understand is how OxygenOS 12 shipped in the state that it did.
Update 2, December 08 (20:57 ET) ― Don’t install
Do not install
According to various reports on social media, the latest OxygenOS 12 update has several serious bugs. We suggest you do not install this stable update, you should wait for another build. The issues such as:

- Autofill feature isn’t working properly
- WiFi issue
- Battery icon turn off issue

Note: Before releasing the stable version of OxygenOS 12, OnePlus released a closed and open beta update to the OnePlus 9 series users. Even after a lengthy beta program, OnePlus hasn’t fixed the bugs before releasing the stable version.
