Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus get One UI 2.1 update with July 2020 security patch in the US

Samsung is rolling out the One UI 2.1 update for unlocked Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ users in the US. The update brings the Android patches released in July 2020 for system security improvement.

This update for these galaxy devices has already released by the T-Mobile and Verizon network carriers. It will take some time before all the US unlocked Galaxy S9 and S9+ variants pick up the One UI 2.1 OTA package.

The firmware version of this update is G960U1UEU7ETG1 and G965U1UEU7ETG1 for Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ respectively. As always, this update improves system stability, system performance, and enhanced features.

To manually check for updates, navigate to Settings > System update. If your system is up-to-date, you don’t need to do anything further. Otherwise, tap Download and install to update your phone.
