Xiaomi has already released the MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 7 users in China, almost 3 months ago. The global Note 7 users are still waiting for the stable MIUI 12 update on their smartphones.
The company may release the stable MIUI 12 update for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 users anytime in the coming weeks. As reported previously, the company is rumored to send the MIUI 12 update to the Note 7 users in mid of this month.

In addition to this rumor, the device is currently receiving the September 2020 security patch in India, a step towards to stable MIUI 12 update. The software version of this update is V11.0.5.0.QFGINXM, and the size of this update is more than 400MB.

Xiaomi has started to roll out a new software update for Redmi Note 7 users. This Android 10-based update rolling out for Indian variants of this device.
Currently, the device is running on MIUI 11, and users will have to wait for the MIUI 12 because the MIUI 12 beta update postponed again due to stability issues.
The software version of the latest update is V11.0.4.0.QFGINXM for Redmi Note 7. Users can manually check for the update and install it. You can also download the update from the link mentioned below.
