Samsung Galaxy Note 9 gets January 2021 security update [Verizon]
According to Verizon, the carrier has started bringing new system security improvements to the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 devices in the US. The older S Pen powered Note 9 flagship is getting a new software update which can be identified with a build version of N960USQS6FTL1.
What’s changing:
- The current software update provides the most up to date Android security patches on your device.
Looking at the changelog, it installs the latest Android patches released in January 2021. This security patch from Samsung fixes 1 critical and 47 high levels of CVEs and exploits for enhanced device protection.
In addition to the new security patches, the latest firmware also purifies the system features/functions that will increase the overall user experience.

Currently, Verizon is also giving the Android 11 update for Samsung Galaxy Note 10, Note 10+, and Z Fold 2 5G. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 9 devices are not eligible to get one more major Android upgrade.
