Microsoft adds file sharing feature to Windows Subsystem for Android
Microsoft is rolling out June 2023 Android update for Windows Subsystem that brings the file-sharing feature on board. To date, the respective element has been the long-requested function for users. In addition, the latest firmware also includes bug fixes and Android security updates.
As per the inputs, the June 2023 Android update for Windows Subsystem is bringing the file-sharing feature with build number 2305.40000.4.0. Apart from the significant change, the version holds settings updates, graphics improvements, and more.
What is File Sharing? This functionality enables you to share user folders. For instance, documents and images, editing videos or photos with Android apps easily, and making the overall operations seamless and comprehensive for consumers.
To be noted, the folder-sharing feature is enabled by default for preview users and can be toggled on and odd in Settings of the Windows Subsystem. In case you are worried about privacy, apps having access to read or edit files will require you to show a system dialogue to ask your permission. In other words, you have full control to add or remove the approval.
Although some limitations also make their way with this update. Such as the WSA (Windows Subsystem for Android) won’t be able to see external devices or user folders. Also, you may face a slowdown when using the feature. In terms of features, you can check the changelog below.
