The Chinese tech maker has recently added a total of six new Xiaomi devices to its EOS List. With this decision, Xiaomi will no longer provide software updates or security patch support for these devices. This means that users of corresponding models will not receive any future Android OS updates, MIUI updates, or bug fixes.
As per the information, the devices that will no longer receive software support from the firm include Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10 Ultra, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi 9C, and Redmi Note 10 5G. Hence, these devices have successfully completed their software update support and will not be upgraded further.
The discontinuation of software support for the devices is a common practice. As new devices are released and technology advances, it becomes increasingly difficult for manufacturers to provide ongoing software support for older models. This decision allows Xiaomi to allocate its resources toward newer devices and provide better support for them.
